Washington Employment Discrimination Poster (Spanish)
The Employment Discrimination Poster (Spanish) is a labor law posters poster by the Washington Department Of Labor & Industries. This is an optional poster, so while it is recommended that you post this if it is relevant to your employees, you are not required to by the Department Of Labor & Industries.
This Spanish poster summarizes Washington's employment discrimination laws, which protect employees and job applicants from discrimination by employers, employment agencies, and labor unions on the basis of certain "protected classes".
Washington's state law prohibits discrimination in employment on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, honorably discharged veteran or military status, genetic information, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a disabled person.
This means that employers in Washington state are not allowed to discriminate against employees or job applicants based on any of these protected characteristics. State discrimination laws apply to all employers wtg eight or more employees.
The Washington State Human Rights Commission is responsible for enforcing state laws that prohibit discrimination in employment and other areas. Employers and employees who believe that they have been subjected to discrimination in the workplace can file a complaint with the commission.
