Assume that every new or unfamiliar chemical is hazardous. Know the hazards of every chemical in your workplace. Before you handle any chemical read the Material Safety Data Sheet. Never mix any chemicals. Never remove labels from chemicals containers. Never assume an unlabeled container is harmless just because it has no label on it. Always wear required personal protective equipment whenhandling chemicals. Know the emergency procedures for every chemical you use. Know the location of emergency eye wash stations, fire extinguishes and first aid kits. Wash your hands and face frequently when handling chemicals. Be sure there is proper ventilation in the areas where you are working with chemicals.
