Military Pay Exemption
Active-duty military pay and military retirement benefits are exempt
from Michigan income tax.

Income Tax Credit for Property Tax Paid
Disabled veterans or their surviving spouses may be eligible for an
income tax credit for property tax paid.

Disabled Veterans’ Property Tax Exemption
Qualified veterans with a service-connected disability may be eligible for
a reduction in their property tax liability.

Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency

Provides support to family members and friends who want to help
the Veterans in their lives deal with substance abuse or mental health
issues.

UIA administers Michigan’s unemployment insurance program,
providing temporary financial assistance to individuals who become
unemployed through no fault of their own.
